A patient’s journey does not begin with treatment, but with a health worker who can recognize symptoms, make the right referral, and support long-term care.
Yet the World Health Organization estimates a global shortfall of approximately 11 million health workers by 2030, with the greatest shortages concentrated in LMICs. Strengthening the skills of community health workers, nurses, pharmacists, primary care practitioners, and specialists is essential to closing care gaps across the patient pathway. Through cross-sector partnerships, we are helping to build sustainable, locally-led initiatives to better prevent, detect, and manage NCDs. Our vision is to bring better health outcomes within reach of underserved communities today and for future generations.
